The first rollerball pens were made by the Japanese company Ohto in 1963. A rollerball pen has a water based liquid or gel ink that is smoother to write with than a ballpoint pen, although it can take a little bit longer to dry. Liquid ink rollerball pens usually have a cap and gel ink rollerballs are retractable. We have a huge range of rollerball pens from all the major brands including Pilot, uni-ball, Stabilo, Pentel and Kaweco. Our best seller is the Pilot G2 07, a retractable gel ink rollerball with a comfortable cushioned grip. The G-TEC C4, Frixion Ball and V5 Hi-Tecpoint are also very popular Pilot models. The Stabilo EASYoriginal rollerball which has a unique ergonomic design is also a great option. Browse our full range of rollerball pens below.
