The Japanese pen manufacturer OHTO was established in 1929 and over the years they have led the way with product innovation. In 1949, OHTO was one of the first companies to manufacture ballpoint pens and in 1964 they made the first pen which combined liquid ink with a ballpoint tip to become the forerunner for modern rollerball pens. Today, their range of innovative products is widely respected worldwide for their quality and reliability. OHTO ballpoint pens have a very smooth-writing, oil-based ink that they describe as soft roll. In fact, the OHTO PS-807NP ballpoint pen refill is a Parker G2 style refill so it will fit many other brands of pen. OHTO rollerball pens have a high quality liquid ink and a ceramic ball that provides a very smooth and unique writing experience. Because of this, it is not uncommon for people to use the OHTO C307 rollerball refills in other brands of rollerball pens. The latest innovation from OHTO is a super quick drying gel ink pen with a fine needle-point tip. This is the OHTO Rays gel pen, and because the ink dries so fast it pen is ideal for left-handed writers. The refill for this pen is the OHTO PG-105NP, which is also a Parker style G2 refill. OHTO also makes a range of fountain pens and the OHTO Tasche is one of their more famous pens. Its compact design makes it handy for carrying around and when the cap is removed and fitted it becomes a full-size pen. Nearly all of our OHTO pens can be engraved with a name or personalised message, making them a truly unique gift.
