Earlier this year, we discovered the Pen Brothers, a pair of kids who have started their own YouTube channel to show off their charmingly unique attempts at pen modifications.
The other day, we decided to drop back in on them and see what they've been up to. Seems the boys have now christened their channel the "Pen Modification Center" and have steadily been posting new videos of their pen adventures.
We heartily recommend a visit to their channel. You just can't help but laugh at the enthusiasm and pure boy-ness with which they approach their projects.
When a schoolmate challenged 'Nitecamel' on the size of his pen collection, he went home and gathered up all his pens - regulars and gels - to show off their pure "awesomeness." But not every pen in the house, he says, because he didn't want to make his brothers mad.
A visit to McDonald's inspired "Camel772" to start a new pen modification project. He got a plastic Star Wars lightsaber in his Happy Meal and decided to make it into a pen he could whip out like Luke Skywalker facing down his father.
Part 1 shows the light saber:
Part 2 introduces an engineering problem:
And Part 3 suggests a possible solution:
We don't know what's going to happen next, but we'll definitely be keeping an eye on the Pen Modification Center to see what happens.
In the meantime, kudos to "Caesar" for his video on the highest jumping pen he's ever made. He utilizes a Pilot G2 Mini with its "wicked powerful" spring to launch the pen at least a good two feet in the air.
We're trying to get in touch with the Pen Brothers, so you definitely can expect to see and hear more from them in the future.
