Rotring was founded in Germany in 1928. The name Rotring directly translates to ‘red ring’, a reference to the red ring that is placed around the barrel of its pens. Rotring is renowned worldwide for the quality of its technical writing and drawing instruments. Its first product was the Tiku - the world’s first nibless fountain pen. However, it was the Rapidograph that really put Rotring’s name on the map, becoming the prototypical technical pen favoured by engineers and draughtsman throughout the world.
After computers largely replaced the need for technical pens, Rotring decided to focus on creating graphic pens and pencils. The Tikky Graphic fineliner pen is our best seller, it uses pigmented ink and features Rotring’s free ink technology which ensures consistent line quality. The Tikky range also includes the Tikky Ballpoint Pen and Tikky Mechanical Pencil, as well as the Tikky 3in1 which, as the name suggests, combines three pens in the same barrel; a black ink pen, a red ink pen and a 0.5mm lead pencil. For those serious about writing, the Rotring ArtPen is perfect and comes with a set of four different calligraphy nibs as well as two lettering and two sketching nibs. We also stock a wide range of Rotring ink cartridges, lead refills and replacement nibs. Check out our full range of Rotring products below.
