The Fisher Space pen was designed by Paul Fisher and was first used in Space by astronauts on Apollo 7 in 1968.
The Apollo S251 is the entry level Fisher Cap-O-Matic space pen. The lower part of the pens barrel is made from a hardwearing plastic with a glossy blue finish & the upper cap part is made from solid metal with a chrome finish
This Pen takes its unusual name from the fact that it is a retractable pen with the tip extended and retracted by pressing the cap.
The Fisher Cap -0-Matic blue S251 space pen has the now legendary sealed pressurised refill with black ink and a medium tip.
It can write upside down and at any angle as well as in extreme conditions from -34 degrees C up to 121 degrees C. Not only can it write in outer space but it can even write under water or on wet paper and over grease.
This pen can be refilled with Fisher Space Pen refills that are available in black, blue, brown, burgundy, green, red, purple turquoise, silver & ultra violet which have a medium tip. The black and blue are also available with a fine or broad tip.
Like all Fisher Space pens it has a lifetime guarantee which is a rare thing these days.
