This is the original Fisher Space Pen that was first used in Space on Apollo 7 in 1968 and then on Apollo 11 which landed on the moon on July 20th 1969. It is still used to this day on all manned space flights.
Its design & construction has not changed since then it is made from solid brass with a fixed pocket clip. The pen is known as an AG7-45 and it is a retractable pen with a very positive click mechanism. The refill is extended by pressing down on top of the pen and retracted by pressing the side button.
This 45th anniversary commemorative edition has a stunning blue finish and is beautifully engraved at the top with the words ”45th anniversary Special Edition” on one side and “Apollo 11” on the other there is also a horizontal line pattern etched down the length of the barrel.
The Fisher AG7 space pen has the now legendary sealed pressurised refill with black ink and a medium tip.
It can write upside down and at any angle as well as in extreme conditions from -34 degrees C up to 121 degrees C. Not only can it write in outer space but it can even write under water or on wet paper and over grease.
This pen can be refilled with Fisher Space Pen refills that are available in black, blue, brown, burgundy, green, red, purple turquoise, silver & ultra violet which have a medium tip. The black and blue are also available with a fine or broad tip.
