If you haven’t entered the Uniball upgrade contest, now’s the time to get your name in for the grand prize drawing. The contest ends in three weeks and the drawing is expected to take place in early January.

The top prize is a sporty Mini John Cooper Works Coupe. That sure beats last year’s prize of a big-screen TV.

To get in on the contest, you have to buy specially marked packages of Uniball products, then go to the company’s Facebook page and enter your code. You could be an instant winner of Uniball BLX pens, an iPod or Starbucks coffee.

You will also be entered for the Mini drawing.

Wouldn’t that be a perfect way to start the year, with a new car? Better yet, a FREE new car?

Plus, of course, you’d get the pleasure of buying yourself some nice new Uniball pens. Get a bunch and use them as stocking stuffers. Just remember to save the package so you can enter the contest.

Unfortunately, it’s only open to US and Canada residents, so if you do win, try not to rub it in too much.

Good luck to everyone.

No Pen Refills…Says Who?

February 5, 2010

(Updated to correct the name of the columnist.) Columnist Lori Borgman wrote a puzzling piece the other day complaining that it is all but impossible to find refills for ink pens, implying that the pen industry makes only disposables and is behind the curve when it comes to environmentally friendly products.
